Comments Thread For: Matthysse Gains Closure With 1st Round TKO Over Castaneda

By Jake Donovan - The last time Lucas Matthysse and Rogelio Castaneda Jr faced one another, the bout was abruptly cut short by a headbutt less than three rounds into the evening, denying either fighter a definitive ending for their efforts.

Their rematch on Friday night ended even quicker. Only this time, the event provided closure.

Matthysse scored three knockdowns before forcing the stoppage at 2:34 of the opening round of their Telefutura-televised main event at Club Atletico Newell's Old Boys in Rosario, Santa Fe, Argentina. [Click Here To Read More]

Co-sign. Maybe he should step his game up and give Vivian Harris what he said he would, a rematch. Harris doesn't need him anyway now though, he's got a loss coming his way at the hands of Victor Ortiz.

It's messed up what they did to Vivian Harris, but honestly, he was eventually gonna get stopped in my opinion. Dude wasn't throwing anything against Matthysse. Still, that doesn't justify what they did to him. I wouldn't mind a rematch though, it's better then watching Lucas beat up on more bums.

Ortiz shouldn't even be fighting Harris and Maidana shouldn't even be fighting Corley, too many pussies at 140 man

Agree, although I don't mind Maidana taking a tune-up with Corley if he fights Khan next. Since Ortiz fought Maidana though they've been babying that dude like crazy. He definitely needs to step up his level of competition.
