Miguel Vazquez should defend his newly won title against Funeka

After all Funeka did get jobbed when he decisively beat Guzman the 1st time for that title. Forget about him losing to Guzman in the rematch because if the official scoring was accurate there would have been no cause for a rematch that happened after the robbery in the 1st fight had already occurred.

So that win isn't really relevant to this situation and besides Guzman had the weight advantages in the 2nd fight hurting the significance of his win leaving it with no bearing on LW fights.

Would you want to see this fight for the IBF LW title and who do you think would win?

It depends how things start off and how he handles Funeka's style because Funeka doesn't seem to be able to adapt.

He comes in with a game plan that he employs every fight and sticks with it because that seems to be the only thing he knows how to do.

Guzman isn't undefeated no more, not that being undefeated really means anything. If you go through alot of undefeated fighters records there's fights they either won closely or you could make a case that the other fighter was jobbed.

He shouldn't be on his record anyway. No way that 1st Funeka fight could have been scored closer than 8-4 and that is generous.

Didn't Funeka test positive for a diuretic? I think he was banned for 9-12 months

Yes he did but it doesn't mean he shouldn't have been IBF champion a long time ago.

IDK how long if he was banned at all though.

well, u know Miguel can be beaten. u know Miguel fought above lightweight for years, u know he just won that major belt and still want to take his dream away cuz you dont like him and think Funeka deserved the title more than him. pff

hes the new champ and should defend his title, fight mandies, fight at lightweight to get used to his new weight.

In your post you just talk about guzman not a single word about Miguel.

                u mad, doggy?

Well I think this fight will happen probably.Funeka still has a IBF ranking nad has fought for the belt twice.

I would pick Funeka by decision.

"It seems that South African Ali Funeka is still paying the price for testing positive for a banned diuretic in his losing effort against Joan Guzman in March. The Nevada Commission gave him a nine month ban and a heavy fine and the IBF threw him out of their ratings. Now after two belated attempts to win the I BF title he finds himself with his face pressed up against the window whilst Miguel Vazquez and Korean JiHoon Kim contest the vacant title. I don't really feel sorry for him, if you cheat there is always the chance you are going to get caught and the tougher the penalty the bigger the deterrent."

**** him, he should earn his way back to contention, but that oversized freak will probably have an even more difficult time making lightweight after that long lay off.
