At Club Nokia in Los Angeles, California, middleweight prospect Bastie Samir (4-0, 4 KOs) returned after a near two year layoff to stop Jacob Alvarez (0-2) in the first round of a scheduled four. A combination of power shots sent Alvarez down near the end of the round. He beat the count but the referee Raul Caiz Sr. felt he was too hurt to continue.
