    hopkins versus pascal break down

    this fight is interesting...and interesting all in 2 reason..the outcome will depend on what hopkins has left plain and simple if hopkins has the legs and stamina still he has a chance..BUT looking at his recent losses..taylor,calzaghe (fighters his size with speed and movement) pascal may prove to be a stylist nightmare for hopkins..hes,young,big and fast..hopkins will have to chase him..hopkins still has his defense but his offense has suffered a bit expecially with mobile fighters..pavlik was tailor made for bernard do to him moving up in weight and being slow and flat footed(still a great win no doubt)..but if hopkins can win this fight and become the ring champ,wbc and ibo..id be highly impressed...thoughts

    My breakdown;

    Jab-hug-hug-hug-clinch-clinch-jab-combo-hug-clinch-clinch-low blow-combo-jab-combo-combo-clinch-kiss on the cheek-hug-combo-combo-jab-jab-jab-clinch-wrestle-clinch-clinch.

    Hopkins frustrates Pascal and wins via wide pts decision.

      I think Hopkins wins this one.

      Note: I scored both the Hopkins vs Taylor fights to Bernard and I also scored the Calzaghe fight to Bernard also.

      Those "losses" didn't prove much that Hopkins cannot deal with "fighters of his size with speed and movement".

        If Hopkins pulls this off, DAMN.

        I'll be very impressed. The dude is pushing half a century and knocking off The Ring LHW Champ.

          If Hopkins doesn't win, I'm going to be shocked since no one has ever really beaten Hopkins easily that is... Even RJJ didn't beat Hopkins easily, he won by points but I wouldn't even consider that a prime BHOP when they fought. Some might hate me for my opinion, but I feel Roy was closer to his prime in the first meeting between Roy/BHOP.

          And with Calzaghe/Hopkins that fight was an ugly fight that probably should have been a draw for both fighters since neither really hit each other all that cleanly except for the first round knock-down by BHOP.

              hopkins will counter the **** out of pascal jumping in, and then grab him so he can't outwork hopkins.

                    If its in Atlantic city Hopkisn will win it. In my opinion Pascal has more to offer than Taylor ever had and is tougher with a better chin, but he lacks the ability to counter. he circles and then charges in with combos and then trys to get out. Timing is key. If Hopkins has a bit of reflexes left he should be able to land the right hand at will.
