Super middleweight Carl Froch would be happy to have a rematch with current IBO/WBC lightweight champion Jean Pascal. Froch is the only man to claim a victory over Pascal. They staged a twelve round war for the vacant WBC 168-pound title in December 2008 at the Trent FM Arena in Nottingham. [Click Here To Read More]

I like how Froch isn't one of these guys that moans about contracts or managers getting in the way - or even 'twitter boxing' like Floyd / Mosley or Khan.
I believe him when he says he'll rematch Pascal @ 175. Boxing needs more fighters like froch. -
Has he actually said it would be at 175?
Reckon he'd request a catchweight. He once said he'd fight Calzaghe at a catchweight; implying he would not feel comfortable at 175.Comment

Boxing needs more fighters like Pascal are you kidding. Just on the heels of his biggest career win and he is ready to fight Cloud, Hopkins, Johnson, and every other big name in the division.
The rematch does better good for Froch then Pascal. The only reason Pascal needs it is for himself. Froch needs Pascal to make a big payday, Pascal dont need Froch for that.
Since their first fight Froch has gone 2-1 with the one Split to Dirrell. Pascal has gone 5-0, 2kos, and their competition was comparable.
I like Froch but Pascal OWNS him now.Comment

I like Froch and Pascal - both men are willing to fight anyone. I have to agree - I think Pascal will do enough if the rematch happens to get his revenge on Froch. I think Froch is a warrior but the wars he has been in will likely catch up to him.Comment

You make some valid points, but the rest of the post is a bunch of crap.Boxing needs more fighters like Pascal are you kidding. Just on the heels of his biggest career win and he is ready to fight Cloud, Hopkins, Johnson, and every other big name in the division.

For a rematch, yes, Pascal is in a better position since the first fight being the man at 175, while Froch has since lost his title at 168 to Kessler. Reports suggest that the Froch/Abraham fight could be for the vacant WBC title since Kessler has pulled out of the super-six due to injuries, and that the remaining fights could be pushed forward into a semi-final showdown (with the other fight being Ward/Dirrell)
There is a chance Froch could win his title again with a win over Abe, with a possible chance of heading into a final unification match-up.....winning that would make him the man at 168. But defeat to Abe, then yeah, Pascal holds the key to a big money-match with Froch moving upto 175 and challenging Pascal for his titles.
Right now, Froch's comp is of a higher regard since the first fight as Pascal does not have a new opponent just yet. Taylor, Dirrell, Kessler and Abraham are a much higher elite of fighters one after another then 2 fights with Diacanu and one with Dawson. Don't let hatred blind you....show respect for two warriors of the sport that are willing to fight anybody....and not pussyfoot around like many other fighters do of this era.
Pascal may be in the driving seat right now...but the super-six isn't over....Froch has a chance to redeem himself.Last edited by black.ink; 08-26-2010, 03:01 AM.Comment

Y'know something, I like this idea. Whether or not Froch beats Abraham, I'd still like to see him move up to 175 and rematch Pascal for his WBC title. In all likelihood it'd be another great fight, and both fellas have a lot to gain from beating the other - Froch would gain a second divisional title, whilst Pascal would shake off that first loss.
Froch is a good bloke for entertaining the prospect of a rematch.Comment

I think Froch would defo take the fight at 175 and would go Canada for it.
Hennessy Sports Canada would be involved and he's said in Boxing News in the past, that if Pascal is the champ, he will go to him unless they fancy a Vegas scrap.Comment
