Reginaldo Kuchle, promoter of featherweight contender Jhonny Gonzalez, wants to make things clear, that his fighter is not giving up his mandatory title shot at champion Elio Rojas, who is recovering from hand and shoulder surgery. There have been reports that Gonzalez gave up the WBC shot because he signed to challenge Jackson Asiku for the IBO title on September 15 in Las Vegas. Kuchle says the reports are not accurate. They have waited for their shot but Rojas signed for other fights before suffering an injury.
