No, and No.....James Toney did not duck Wlad. He was in a title eliminator with Sam Peter that year and lost if i recall correctly.

          THE TRUTH

Vitali took the fight on just 10 days notice.

Vitali was clearly winning the fight 4-2 on all 3 scorecards at the time of the controversial doctor stoppage. Lewis was badly hurt and was staggering around the ring like a drunk, he barely survived the 2nd round. Lewis was getting outboxed, outworked, outlanded and was hurt several times in the fight.

          punches landed

          Vitali 156

          Lewis 102

Lewis was exhausted, worn down and hurt from the accumulation of punches and was ready to get KTFO again, he collapsed onto his stool at the end of the 6th round, Vitali was the fresher of the two, he was a man on a mission and would've KO'd Lewis for sure if the fight had continued.

All the fans at Staples Center cheered for Vitali and booed Lewis after the fight.

          Lewis promised Vitali a rematch.

Vitali destroyed Kirk Johnson in 2 rounds and called out Lewis again in the post fight interview. The scared Lewis retired shortly after that fight.

Lewis turned down 30 million dollars for a rematch and retired like a coward because he knew he would get destroyed by Vitali.

Vitali dominated Lewis and scared him into retirement.

We don't agree on much, but this is the absolute truth.

Riight... If vit was so dominating why were all the cards 4-2 rather then 6-0??and why did Lewis win round 5 and 6 before the stoppage if he was so badly dominated

you kilts fans are so funny i guess zab Judah beat mayweather in your minds cause he was on top for the first 4 rounds lol..

He didnt duck him in my book, but he squandered an amazing opportunity that would sadly never come again.

If David Haye isnt careful hes going to end up the same way.

Hey you know who else only had ten days notice ?

                    That's right Mr.Lewis himself.............

Lennox Lewis: I had taken a year off after fighting Mike Tyson, and I came back to fight Kirk Johnson. I had prepared for Johnson, but it was supposed to be a tuneup fight for Klitschko, who I was supposed to fight at the end of the year. [Johnson was injured and pulled out of their fight.]. I took the fight with Klitschko on ten days notice. I had one sparring session with a guy over six feet tall, and he only gave me five rounds.

Klitschko was actually training for a while for me. Klitschko wasn't a fight where I was trying to out-box him, I was trying to knock him out. My style was just to go walking through a guy that was bigger than me, and I wanted to see if he was tougher than me.

I'll admit, he was successful in the first two rounds, but after that, it was all me. I was really taking him into the deep end. This was a war. We're gladiators. After that fight, I realized that at my worst, I can beat Klitschko, so at my best, I know that I can beat him. So there was no real hunger for him. So that was the right time to walk away from the game. Besides, he's not a guy who said that he was going to eat my children or anything, so I could walk away, no problem.

Wrong, what you can't read what you posted? Lewis himself said he was training for Johnson, then Johnson got injured and Vitaly stepped in with ten days notice. Lewis was in training camp way before that, so he had way more than just ten days, unlike Vitaly.

As for OP, he is right, Toney did duck the Klitschkos back in 06. Now he is so broke he would fight them for half of that $1.5 million. But he hasn't won a meaningful fight since 06, unless you count being caught with steroids TWICE, loosing to Peter TWICE, gift over Oquendo, and SD over Batchleder (for which he needed steroids) - whatever his name is, meaningful. So I doubt the Klitschkos will give that fat racist a fight, maybe if he wins tonight, maybe.
