That's debatable. Cotto IMO is a real tough dude. Cotto's taken his share of beatings, but people forget that he's fought the who's who of 147lbs for the last 3-4 yrs. Not sure anyone in Boxing would go through Margarito, Mosley, Clottey, and Pacquiao without a scratch (let alone even fighting all of them to begin with).
More than anything to me with Cotto has been his matchmaking. He'll fight anyone regardless if it's a bad style match up or not, which really is what ended up making me a fan of his after a lot of criticism I gave the dude for years. I think he's got 2-3 solid years left.Comment

I dont see Cotto being a challenge for Floyd.
It would be another clinical one sided fight. Whereas Marg i believe will keep coming after Pac, and land a few shots will getting hammered.
Pac - Marg = Action.
Floyd - Cotto = boxing master class without any excitment.Comment

Trading with Pacquiao will do that
It's two completely different fights
Mayweather may completely outbox Cotto, but it's not going to be in the fashion Pac did it.Comment

Two different style match ups. Pacquiao went after Cotto, where as with Floyd I don't believe he'll have the same approach and would fight his fight. I don't think Cotto would be "Outboxing" Floyd per say, but I think he'd steal early rounds by being a little busier and landing some jabs here and there. But I don't think he'll sit right in front of Floyd and jitter like he was having a seizure, but Floyd's a master at adjusting midway through the fight and that's where I think Floyd will coast away by counter punching and landing lead rights over Cotto's jab.Comment

He wont trap him in corners and unload 20 punch combos on him everytime he catches him like Pacquiao did, but the beating will be very bad, not as bad, but a hellacious beating nonetheless. It will look like the Mosley fight only worse because Cotto is hurt much more easily and has bad stamina himself sir.Comment

Floyd Vs Cotto easy, Margarito is a shot fighter i think the fight wit cotto took a toll on his body cause he cant take shots like he did against cotto n he will definatly take alot of shots from manny.Comment

If this was last year I would see your point, but Mosley had Mayweather looking ready to go, and Mayweather went right after Mosley and had Mosley fighting off the back foot, the only other WW to do so was Forrest years ago. I also think Mosley is physically stronger than Cotto and Mayweather will fight him like he did Mosley, but do evern more damage, since cotto isn't exactly durable or adaptive in the ring. Two different style match ups. Yea I mean, I still think it comes down to style match ups. Cotto's had the most trouble against fighters who press the issue on him (Clottey, Marg, Pacquiao). I think both Floyd and Cotto would get in small exchanges throughout the fight, but I don't see Floyd completely dominating that fight by beating Cotto down. I think he'll win, just not by stoppage. Floyd doesn't like getting out of his comfort zone, and even for a 29-30 yr old Cotto, I see Floyd being a little more apprehensive contrary to how he was with Mosley. If this was last year I would see your point, but Mosley had Mayweather looking ready to go, and Mayweather went right after Mosley and had Mosley fighting off the back foot, the only other WW to do so was Forrest years ago. Plus, we really still don't know if this Steward / Cotto combo is gonna get better. Cotto's taken beatings, but I wouldn't call him the PR Arturo Gatti by any means as far as punishment is concerned. The best thing he can prob do is fight the Foremans and Chavez Jr's right now to get his confidence back and test the waters of the elite again next year. He's still only 30 yrs old.Comment
