Which Prospect (Under 10 Fights) Are U Most Excited About?

The thing about Frankie Gomez. Watch his fights. He's wild, and wreckless. Not that accurate, and not that great of power. Plus all his fights are stopped oddly early. Bought off refs?

naah Frankie will be really good and could be better than Jose. I feel Jose will end up being better but it will be awfully close.

FWIW I have been following Frankie for a while and he has improved a lot. One of the biggest improvements over the past year is him not leaving his chin out (ala Edwin Valero) when he throws combos.

There are some more improvements as well, but to sum it up...he has a really good trainer that is helping him improve a lot. Kid is far from a brawler, and I would hate for anyone to label some one as talented as him as such.

Well most of my favorite prospects are still in the amateurs but If I had to pick a pro that fit the description of this thread (under 10 fights)....the the kid I'm most excited about is Steven Martinez.

He is a kid from the Bronx and fights at Light Middleweight. He has really good skills and won 2008 national golden gloves at WW. Not only that but his his style wasn't really made for the amateurs (he has a pro style) despite his success (has mentioned this several times).

Kid is will be a great pro, if he keeps working hard. He is 5-0 with all five wins being via KO (and all within 3 rounds).

Dude....I'm the biggest Montiel fan in the world and I even know that all he's got is power, I like how you use the term "boxer-puncher" when he's not. Now Barrera and Morales are boxer punchers....Montiel isn't. Look at the Hozumi fight, He was getting outboxed in the early rounds before he got the KO based on his power. I know you don't know **** about boxing but it's ok I'm trying to help you. Please explain to me what makes Montiel a boxer puncher, Take your time coconut.

I agree with what you are saying. I feel Freddy is the best in the business, but whoever is training Frankie is very, and I repeat very underrated as a trainer. I'm really big into following amateur boxing (have been for years) and I have seen huge improvements in Frankie's game.

What's crazy is you can tell he is trying to develop/improve as a fighter and is often disappointing in how soft his competition is. I don't think he says so outta respect, but he has the look of "come on I know you could have put up a better fight than that" on his face after he destroys an opponent.

BTW I have seen some of the best amateurs over the years....and Frankie is the real deal. The only thing that will stop him from being great is himself.

Dude would stink out the place on a regular basis....lately he has opened up a little bit more but he still has the ability to outbox his opponents if he chooses. Look at his fight with Castillo, he was outboxing the crap out of him before landing that wicked body shot.

He has the ability and intelligence to box but also the balls and the power to brawl....a true boxer-puncher
