Just like Roach said "Hatton is just not very good"... He was luck to be the champ at 140 but he only fought Pauli M at 140, the rest of his competition were mediocre at best, He never fought Cotto at 140 (He would murder Hatton), He duck Mayweather till Floyd went to 147, Vivian Harris ask for too much money to fight Hatton so cant fault Hatton there, He ducked Witter who was his main domestic and awkward rival..

But he fought maussa, Urango (A 17-0 novice), A shot and debt-ridden Castillo, Laszcano and a bunch of low level fighters at 140, I dont see Hatton beating the Bradley,Alexander,Khan, Ortiz or Maidana of these world.

Those 2 were belt holders at 140 when Hatton fought them, and the shot debt ridden Castillo was apparently rated p4p at the time, although im not 100% if thats true, or why he was.

Its easy to use the "Belts" as an excuse, Yeah Urango was a beltholder, Mausaa was a beltholder and that says it all really, Castillo was done rated or not rated but he still has the name which could still command respect... Hatton was good at 140 but not great and the fact that people try to compare him to other greats at 140 pisses me off....He beat Tsyzu and Paulie M and those were is biggest win at 140 in over 6 years at 140.

Cotto beat better competition at 140 even though they didnt have a belt when he fought them before he left for 147..

I love watching Cotto, would've loved to seen him and Ricky fight a few years ago somewehre between 140 and 147 catchweight (i know people hate catchweights but i wouldve liked this one) Wouldve been brutal, Cotto would've probably won but it sure as **** wouldnt have been easy for him.

And being N.Irish i rate the Magee win quite highly, even though he struggled more against him than anyone else not named Pac at 140. It was a hell of a fight.
