According to manager Vlad Hrunov and Sauerland Event's CEO Chris Meyer, unbeaten heavyweight contender Alexander Povetkin did not withdraw from a scheduled fight with Wladimir Klitschko in the manner that was indicated by Teddy Atlas, who is Povetkin's trainer. I smell b.s. Hrunov is trying to save face i assume. Why didn't he come out and say this earlier rather than wait till Peter stepped in and Povetkin lost his rating?According to manager Vlad Hrunov and Sauerland Event's CEO Chris Meyer, unbeaten heavyweight contender Alexander Povetkin did not withdraw from a scheduled fight with Wladimir Klitschko in the manner that was indicated by Teddy Atlas, who is Povetkin's trainer. If this is true, Atlas is just a total dumbasss.
The death of a father is a much more respectful excuse. Why he would say Povetkin is just not ready is beyond me
Is there a worst thing to say other then "a fighter is not ready"?Comment

Um if his father passed and he didn't get a chance to train then was Teddy when he said Povetkin wasn't ready. A loss to WLAD usually comes with a detached retina and brain damage, if K2 were not offering any insurance I wouldn't fight him any either I'm just saying but then again I don't box.Comment

Are you freaking kidding me? K2 was ready to pay Povetkin $2 million dollars, more than enough for Povetkin to pay for his own health insurance for the fight.Um if his father passed and he didn't get a chance to train then was Teddy when he said Povetkin wasn't ready. This isn't an employment contract where the employer pays health insurance. This is a professional boxing contract. You get millions of dollars and you pay your own expenses from that. Simple as that!Comment

I agree. Povetkins` team would have been paid more than enough to cover all the necessary expenses. Are you freaking kidding me? K2 was ready to pay Povetkin $2 million dollars, more than enough for Povetkin to pay for his own health insurance for the fight.

P.S. do the boxers get any health insurance at all?Comment
