Newark, New Jersey - At a packed Prudential Center, heavyweight Tomasz Adamek (42-1, 27 KOs) won a twelve round unanimous decision Michael Grant (46-4, 34 KOs). The scores were 117-111, 118-110 and 118-111. Adamek was able to stay out of danger for the most part, as the 6'7, 261-pound Grant was stalking him round after round. Grant had some brief moments. He managed to wobble Adamek in the sixth and had him badly hurt in the twelfth and final round. Adamek stayed on his feet and made it to the final bell. It was Grant's first defeat since 2003.
