Roy Jones is going to fight again

I guess you are right. I tought he was decided but didnt want to make a big deal about it. If he likes to keep on fighting against journeymen just for fun i guess i have nothing against it. I think he knows he's done at the top level.

But if he keeps beating journeyman he is going to think that he has something left and sooner or later he will try to step up the level of competition again.

It's so weird how quickly Roy adapted to losing. I remember when he was regarded as the best fighter on the planet... now he's content to take $$$ and lose. He's everyone's *****... Calzaghe, Hopkins, Green... the list of people passing him around like a crack whore is endless lately.

Look at his record of the last 6 years. The guy used to be undefeated (okay, against not exactly stellar comp that could stretch him) and was widely respected.

These last six years he's gone an amazing 5-6 (2), three of the losses by getting KTFO, and another one by extended slap poisoning.

If you said to anyone who'd only watched boxing for a couple of years (and as this is NSB, then that's 85% of you) that Roy used to be great, they'd never believe you.

How do you think the last 7+ years affects his legacy? Are you from the group that says his shot, so those years don't count, or are you from the group that says that those years have to be taken into account also?

I'd say far more the first group (I thought all Calzaghe had to do was turn up to win, and LOL'd heartily at those who predicted an RJJ win) though it starts adding up, I guess. Look at the way that he made Hopkins look foolish at times in their first bout.. then forward to however bad he looked in the second.

I know...He's great at convincing and motivating himself. It's probably one of the reasons he became an ATG in the first place.

I don't think this should affect the perception of what Roy was in his prime and his legacy but in the eyes of the new or casual fans it has an affect and that's a bit sad.

I still consider Roy as one of the best boxers of all time, regardless of his last 6 years in the sport..He seems not to care about losing anymore...In a weird way he is acting like a fighter way back in the 30's etc when they finished their careers with 10+ losses..To me if he wants to fight journeymen(and he better beat them) and gain a couple more wins then retire why not..i just dont want him to fight Top level fighters..If he can get a couple of wins and rematch Glen Johnson and hopefully win, To me that would be REDEMPTION..THEN when it all comes down to it, he would have avenged that bad loss and bow out gracefully...For fans to say roy jones sucks, dont either KNOW BOXING OR JUST STARTED WATCHING BOXING... I remember when roy was undefeated and beating ppl so easily and looking amazing...Listen guys Roy's skills were unmatchable and stupendous and outofthisworld, To say he's tarnished his legacy, i dont think so...There are many great fighters who fought longer and tarnished their career(as u ppl say it) but are still considered great....when leonard fought camacho, ali fought holmes, trinidad fought jones at 175(we all know he was old and a welterweight) etc etc, I say leave Roy alone and let him be at peace with his career because HE HAS DONE LEft being great and he knows he's in the HOF, and he said once he didnt care how he was ranked in the hall of fame so that tells u he didnt care about losing or winning, just fighting, for his health yes stop fighting, Nobody wants to retire with a loss as their last fight, few fighters like Oscar de la hoya
