Comments Thread For: Montiel Claims Munoz is a Possible Opponent For 9/25

WBO/WBO bantamweight champion Fernando Montiel claims former champion Alexander Munoz of Venezuela is a possible opponent for his fight on September 25. If that's true, it would conflict recent reports from the WBA, that Munoz has agreed to be a part of their "KO To Drugs" festival on October 2 at the Arena Roberto Duran in Panama City, Panama. A source in Montiel's camp has said they have tried to get ex-unified champion Cristian Mijares as an opponent for the date but they have not been successful in their efforts.

I'd rather not see this. I think Montiel should just take some time off instead. He'll need the rest so he can be fresh when he starts training for the Donaire fight.

    Donaire/Montiel > Munoz/Montiel

I wonder why Montiel is willing to fight Munoz, who is already done for. I want to see him fight Donaire NOW. Heh. That's too much to ask for. But I say Montiel shouldn't fight someone like Munoz or even Mijares. A Hasegawa rematch wouldn't suffice either. It's Donaire, nobody else.
