Damn ROY... I will follow you till the end. Because of this man I became a fan of boxing. RJJR is the GOAT. Its funny cause hes the greatest and nobody even comes close. When will the boxing world accept that.... Fight to the Finish my good man.

Cruiserweight fights are not going to be good for him.

Yeah and you also have 7800 posts on a boxing forum..the casual fan might now know. Also Ali's promotional team (his fans) do a great job of telling everyone they see that Ali's prime was when he wasnt fighting. I mean, dont you know, Ali was unbeatable when he wasnt in the ring. What was shown with RJJ vs. Hopkins 2 is that neither have the large group of die hard fans, nor the cross-over appeal that Ali had, or even Oscar has. Who will carry their torch and stick up for them and bring them up on ATG lists when theyre gone. So I do think he hurts his legacy some with every fight, but to boxing fans he could help his legacy. If Jones at this stage of his career fought...I dont know, Tomas Adamek...and beat him (not saying he would fight him, or could beat him, but bare with me), people would say, "wow Jones was so great, a shot jones beat Adamek etc..." So boxing fans then would overrate him. Legacy is a really touchy thing to play with. Truthfully it has to do with how many people will argue for you when youre gone. you could have a perfect record, have 46 wins and over 20 title defenses, but if the masses arent going to argue for you, youll have a tarnished legacy.

Its funny how Rocky 4, a pretty campy cliche movie, really highlighted this syndrom with athletes. They cant just hang em up. RJJ I doubt is broke. I really doubt it. Id guess hes still worth millions and there are things he can do in retirement. Like rap....In all honesty he is a guy who only knows boxing. Thats all he knows. Its hard to walk away from it, because what comes next? In RJJ's mind there must be nothing.

As long as he fights a non-puncher who isn't a swarmer he will be fine.

Surely Roy has made enough money to retire and be happy? Does he have good people around him to advise him to stop?

Evander Holyfield vs RJJ at HW, and after that both retire, who's with me?
