toney's fast? I mean, seriously, c'mon. Toney was never fast in his hey-day, but now he lost his most important attribute--- his reflexes. No need for that fight
do the klitschkos avoid james toney?

Nah Joe, Toney has been finished for a few years now.
He is not a viable opponent and I doubt is well known anymore outside of hardcore fans.Comment

Its pretty simple to get a fight with the Klitschko's. You have to do a few things to do it.
1. be on a winning streak. they are no interested in fighting people who are 3-2-1 in their last 6 fights. Also why fight a guy who recently got beat pretty well by a fat sam peter and then got beat convincingly by a slightly less fat sam peter. Holy also dqed for this
2. Be somewhat active. They will fight you if youre on a winning streak no matter what, but if not, at least be active. They prefer fighting guys who fight a couple times a year. Its hard to make a case someone is a good opponent when their last real fight wwas a SD against Fres Oquendo 2 years ago. Holy also gets disqualified for this.
3. Call them out- make them want to punish you.
Thats all you have to do, thats why Briggs gets a shot and Toney, Holy, and Tua dont. Theyre in this for their legacy right now, they dont want to get in the ring with fat old James Toney and kill him.
That being said I hope Toney kills Couture.Comment

The Klitschkos would pump that long jab in toney's face and piss him off all night long. That would be a weird fight tho. Id take it Klitschkos UD but ya never know? But seriously K2 brothers box him on the outside and beat him easilyComment

If Toney had earned a shot, he would get one. He shouldn't get a title shot just because he talks sh** about the Klitschkos.i dont think so but read the es boxing article today...it states the klits deem him to dangerous even at his advanced age....just an article but thats why they say toney went to the ufc...its only an article but its not the first time this has been written about by sports writers.ive also read on this site last year(cant find the interview)that steward suggested not fighting toney...its interesting but how true is it?if guys like briggs, sosnowski, kingpin are getting shots at the klits why wouldnt they fight a 5'9 fat heavyweight that no one thinks has a chance? hes still a very big draw in california & viable name to add to their resumes.it is dan goosen(toneys promoter)speaking on the subject...good promoting or just the truth? who knows?interesting to think about.Comment

wait, you guys are joking, right? Prime Toney was beautiful stuff to watch, but the man would get KOed by either Klitschko brother now, and Wlad in particular would put him away pretty quickly.
You do realise that Toney was outboxed by Fres Oquendo, right?
Toney is terrible now.Comment
