When are prospects not prospects anymore?

    1. Bradley Alexander, khan, Ortiz, type fighters not just in the JWW Div. but all divisions. When is Berto gonna start fighting and fighters always outprice themselves as if they deserved it???? What fighters dont realize is that boxing today wouldnt be as big if it were not for all the great Heavywaits, etc. Classic trilogies, all through the 90's when i use to know who the best was at the time because the BEST FAUGHT THE BEST! who u wanted to see fight did fight so there were not any doubts... Oscar vs Tito type of fights... so when do they stop being prospects and start with legacy????

    2. We know who the super star boxers are but if you can name all of the super stars in all weight divisions and all prospects from all divisions. You will have more prospects than super stars who are not fighting each other...

    3. See why MMA is more mainstream than Boxing?

David Lemieux is my favorite boxer and I would still consider him as a prospect. But his last fight against Ayala showed he is for real. He KO'D Ayala in 1st round, while it took 12 rounds for Artur Abraham to knock him out cold. And everyone is amazed by Abraham's power.

I stop considering them prospects when they win a respected organization's belt..or become a champion basically...

I stop considering someone a prospect when they fight and beat someone who has proven to at least be competitive with a world class fighters even if they have always came up short.

So if some WW prospect like Mike Jones for example gets a close decision over Clottey, I would stop considering him a prospect and bump him up to contender.

They stop being a prospect when they stop improving or are ranked in the top 3 of a division.

For example Berto. This guy is a champion, he beat Rodriguez for the belt, then he barely got by collazo beat a JWW in Urango and now is being matched with more 140 lb guys who has never faught at 147... He has a mandatory and others who are more than willing to fight him... Bradley fights Abregu, Ortiz fights Harris, Haye is fighting harrison, etc.
