I actually met floyd and gatti when i went ot ODh BHOp fight. Floyd mentioned Gatti's name. I sat next to Gatti on the flight back to Newark and he said he would eventually fight floyd. Gatti was too small for 147 but too big for 140 he needed someone to fight. Floyd needed to get his name up because he was like Pwill is now, all rep and no drawing power.

Very true, but let's not forget that before Gatti even considered it Mayweather had to become Gatti's mandatory by beating Cotto's best friend.

Anyways at 135 Stevie Johnston was willing to fight him and so was Spadafora and so was Lazcano. Floyd ignored all 3. Now you being the fanatic that you are will not only make up an excuse but justify on why he didn't fight them. Maybe even play the who are they game? At 140 Harris was willing to fight him, Floyd was even his mandatory but Floyd decided to fight a lesser opponent in Bruseles. But, again let the excuses and justifying begin. At 147 he had countess time to fight top opponents. Hell he could of fought Margarito in August of 06, buy out his contract fight Baldomir in Nov/Dec of 06 and fight Oscar in May of 07. But, would that have been too many fights for the very active "money" Mayweather? I guess....
