When supposed fight fans start talking about fighters, on a high level, "throwin" fights, I have no belief these people really know about boxing. They certainly don't know fighters, & don't use the logic that would show them how fighters at Hopkins' level would NEVER benefit from throwing a fight.
I always ask the dopes who think a guy threw a fight the following, this :
If he was TRYING to lose, why was he jeopardizing the "throw" by actually nailing the guy he's supposed to lose to with so many potential KO blows ?
Think of that one, guys.
Also, don't take it there because the guy you expecetd & wanted to win, didn't do so....& you're looking for something other than the truth.Comment

who with 20 defenses, undefeated for over a decade, a future HOFer, one of the greatest MWs of all time, would consider throwing a fight?
this comes up after every big fight...
I am surprised no one asked whether Castillo threw the fight vs CorralesComment

He was always about the money. I always wondered why in the 10th, 11th and 12th round, he didn't finish Taylor. Especially in the 12th with Taylor wobbled, Hopkins just posed for the remaining :50 left.Comment

I would put the odds at precisely ZERO.
Hopkins had a bad strategy, one that RJJ identified as ****** from round 1. For a smart fighter with 20 defenses, he should have known better. Or maybe at age 40 we just saw his best effort, an effort that can't be sustained over 12 rounds.
The rematch has a lot of intrigue - bring it on!Comment
