Gavern was actually a pretty high level fight for Boytsov. He beat Quezada, who Arreola struggled with not long ago. That fight was hilarious, by the way.

Yes. Although I admit he needs to watch out for the uppercut, or else he will end up like Denis Bahktov when he stepped up against a rough fighter like Arreola.
Boytsov seems like the kind of fighter that would be open to uppercuts...luckily almost no one in the division knows how to use one.
Boystov is better than most of the prospects imo but he needs to change his style, he fights in the stand up euro style which i am not sure is good for him as he is short for a heavy, he would be better of going to America and getting some training in over there.
He isn't going anywhere if he fights Wlad next. Wlad will ruin him. Wlad has another 2 years on top, Boytsov can go the Gaye route but we know Gaye won't even face Chagaev. Vitaly beats him at this point as well.
Boytsov is a tough young contender but does not have that 'signature' win, to really indicate he's a top contender or not. He's been out of action for awhile (due to a hand injury) but rumor has it, he'll be back later this year. And I agree, he needs to step it up a bit.....
