Although I think it's weird, a lot of Mexican fighters who are from the Distrito Federal, Toluca, Cuernavaca and a lot of surrounding cities near the capital, have done this for centuries

Even today in several neighborhoods in D.F. some people will still won't see doctors when they're sick, they go to curanderos-hierberos (plant and potion healers). and if they tell you to do something you do it.

Like I said I think it's weird, I read somewhere that medically it has no benefits but I understand why they do it, what people don't get is that when they're on urine therapy, they're not drinking their urine every time they get thirsty or at all times of day, it's specifically during training and only the first time you have to urinate after you train, basically your body doesn't have that many liquids do to the fact you're burning all you drink through sweat, so they think that what you do urinate is all concentrated energy in liquid form electrolytes.
