Colombian power puncher Antonio Pitalua (48-4, 42KOs) makes his return to Mexico on September 4 at the Auditorium Teopanzolco in Cuernavaca, México. In a strange meeting, he will defend the WBO Latin welterweight title against Joe Rivera (20-8-2, 14KOs) of Puerto Rico. A strange meeting because Rivera, while winning his last two fights, had been inactive, according to several records, since June 1997. A return after thirteen years to face a puncher like Pitalua will send him right back to retirement. Pitalua has won twice, by knockout, since being stopped in two by the late Edwin Valero in April 2009.
