Umm, what??? He lost to Kessler, Ill admit it was a close fight, but he lost. Get over it. He won a close fight against Dirrell, and if Dirrell had fought Froch the same way he fought AA he would have beaten Froch easily, Dirrel easily beats Froch in a rematch. Froch likely wont get past AA, and he sure as hell isnt beating Andre Ward. So, the answer to your question is no.

Abraham does not counter. He goes into a shell when being punched at. He does not come out until his opponent stops punching. Abraham is very defensive minded and that can be taken advantage of. Carl will have to be careful when Abraham launches one of his hard attacks though. If he trades with him with Abraham coming at him that is where he can get nailed. Carl will have to try to keep things on the outside.

We have for a long time waited for Carl to step up in class, and now he is fighting the top guys he has shown he is comparable and can compete with them, the evidence is all the close fights hes had with JT, Dirrell, and now Kessler.
So he can be compared to them. What he hasnt done is something similar to Pac, whereby he totally dominates his opponents like against Cotto, Hatton, Diaz, DLH and now Clottey.
Pac is just a class or two above Froch.

Taylor was younger than Froch and had only lost to Pavlik. And a poor refs decision? Taylor was getting his head crushed. Another 17 seconds of clean punches from Froch would have killed Taylor.

Weight drained? I don't think so. Pascal looks unnaturally big at LHW. His muscles are huge and he is slower. To me it looks as if he has packed on too much mass on too small a frame.
