Comments Thread For: Margarito Applies For a Texas License, Arum is Optimistic

It lasted over five hours, but on Wednesday the California State Athletic Commission voted 5-1 against issuing Antonio Margarito a license to box in their state. Margarito lost the ability to box in the United States in February 2009 when his license was revoked by the CSAC following a hand-wrapping scandal in January 2009. [Click Here To Read More]

Jerry Jones is a crooked, he is going to pull strings to get this cheater to fight in Texas. If this cheater steps in the ring against Pacquiao, I hope Pacquiao kills him. This cheater couldn't even hurt his last two opponents, both Mosley and his last opponent walked through Marg's punches.

Every state should respect the ruling.

            Hopefully Texas will.

If they give him a license it probably means they've been bought.

              When is the hearing?

And don't the different state commission have a gentleman's agreement not to step on eachother's toes when it comes to rulings like this? I know Tyson got Memphis to license him when Nevada and other states rejected him.

And is Mexico the destination if Texas says no?

This can't be good press for the fight.

                If it happens.

Any press is good press when it comes to Boxing. Sportscenter had a 'Breaking News' segment on Margarito's license rejection... when was the last time anything boxing-related (outside of Pac-May) was breaking news anywhere outside of sites like this?

Come on Jerry Jones is involved so you know damn well money is gonna exchange hands and Texas will definitely give Margacheato a license. It's disgusting really. This guy shouldn't even be allowed to fight let alone fight in such a big event and huge payday.
