Earlier tonight, Fox Sports Net hit the airwaves with a boxing event live from the Palace Indian Gaming Center in Lemoore, California. Vassily Jirov and Orlin Norris, two former cruiserweight champions battled it out in a do or die bout within the heavyweight division. Both men had hopes of picking up a big win in order to advance up the ranking ladder towards a potential title shot. The bout was far from a barnburner and ended with a majority draw decision. This fight was a piss poor one to be at. Trust me i know. i went to this because it is only like 10 miles from my hometown of Fres"No". They had some of the lights on for no reason. It was like a hundered and ten degrees. But with the lights it felt like 120+. These two are obviously not what they used to be. Since Toney, Jirov hasnt been the same.
One thing that i did notice was that i think toney either has a stuttering problem or he some how got punch drunk. He was talkin to a few of the people in the crowd and he seemed to forget or stutter through comments. Im sure everything is fine.
Sam salimon was cool. He is an akward fighter. After the fight he hung out with the fans. A real fan friendly type of guy. I am not sure if he could beat taylor let alone hopkins though. He would pose a different type of fight for both Hop and Tay.
All in all, that what a ****ty fight to attend, everyone their was bitchy as hell, there was three fights in the parking lot. One was two "indians" that work for the casino. I dont know if you people know but here in california the only casinos that are allowed are the ones run by indians. It sucks.
**** "The Palace" for puttin us out side. I hope the next fights will be at Table Mountain Rancheria. Its a smaller venue but at least im inside. Beside the female workers their are ****in hot. -
I remebering see the fight with my step-dad and we were dissapointed in Jirov;s performance. Here is a guy that was considered to many very good, and could of made a huge comeback to fight a well known boxer to get the title and jut seems to have no energy. I think he has no motivation in boxing anymore. He didnt seem the same to me. I know everyones says its becasue of the toney fight, but I'm not sure what it is. To me, he can still be great but needs to put more effort in his fights. He still hits dam hard and I hope he can make a comeback in boxing.Comment

I don't even mention Jirov as one of Toney's good opponents when I mention good opponents Toney beat. I was never that impressed with Jirov. He beat f'n Julian Letterlough as his biggest win right.
Yeah, definitely Jirov was overrated. Michael Moorer beat him, enough said.Comment
