Host : Lucian is here with us, how are you Lucian ?
Bute : I'm going very well ! I've just started training and I feel great.
Host : People are only talking about you and Pascal these days, but you must be only thinking about your upcomming title defense...
Bute : Yeah, presently I'm focusing on my next fight against Jesse Brinkley in October. I've just started my training and we'll leave MTL to continue my training and after October 15th we'll have a look at the future.
Host : You must've jumped upon hearing JEAN PASCAL's comments. He's self-proclaiming to be the king in town to hear this how do you feel ?
Bute : I'm used to hear this from Jean Pascal, this is typical from him. I congratulate him for this title win, it was a great fight and he fully deserve to win. This fight between me and him it will happen for sure. Don't know when, months, 1 or 2 year...
Host : So you promise this fight will happen ?
Bute : It's unavoidable. He just make his entrance on the international boxing scene, I already made mine. I think there is still room to both grow up and hype it up more.
Host : So it's smart, you want the most people to be interested in the fight ?
Bute : I want a "mega-fight" so why fight now ? Right now it only interests Quebec and Canads we're not really known in the US and the World yet, neither me or him. If we want to grow up together, we still have to grow. I wanna stay in the category (168) for now because there is a lot of challenge there.
If I wanna move up to light heavyweight I wanna do it for good not just for a fight and this needs preparation.
Host : Some people are saying that you might be scared of facing Jean Pascal, what do you answer to them ?
Bute : I wanna reassure everyone that i'm not scare of him and anyone, it's not the point. One day this fight will happen for sure. I want everyone in the world to be interested, not just Quebec.
Host : What did you tell your promoter about this fight ?
Bute : I said to him that it will happen one day sure. I wanna focus on my category for now. You know, boxing is very dangerous, 1 punch and you can lose and you're career is changed. It will happen, nothing rushed.
Host : But meanwhile Jean Pascal will continue to talk and proclaim himself to be the best.
Bute : That's his opinion, this is how Jean Pascal is and I respect that. For me you knwo i don't talk a lot. People might interpret that as I am scared but it's not the case.
Host : Well yesterday at INTERBOX's Golf Tournament you were heard saying quote "One day I'll shut his big mouth for good"
Bute : Yeah i said that yerterday night and it'll happen *laugh*
Host : *laugh* So how will you plan your progression to 175 pounds ?
Bute : I'm at 168 pounds right now but actually I'm more around 180 pounds on fight night.
Host : So when Jean Pascal's promoter (Yvon Michel, GYM) say that you and Pascal are the same weight on fight night he's right ?
Bute : Yeah, all boxers do the same. Nevertheless, when changing category you still need to change your training program, for example more or less musculation, develop more strength. Of course it's easy to get 4-5 pounds quickly.
Host : Yeah I got that last summer *chuckles*
Bute : Yeah, I don't want that. But anyway, it'll change a lot of things about my preparation.
Host : Did you make a schedule, a deadline or plan to switch to this category ?
Bute : Like I said, I'm staying for now at 168 pounds, I have fights coming...
Host : How many more fights ?
Bute : I'm waiting for Super SIX to finish and face the winner in order to know who's the best in the division.
Host : Talking about your next fight. You had plans to fight in Romania (your hometown) but it will be in Montreal. How did that affect it ?
Bute : Yeah it affected me, because I really wanted to fight there. However the economic crisis really affected the country so we decided to do it in Montreal. Brinkley is a mandatory fight for me and I take him very seriously.
Host : What do you knwo about him ?
Bute : I saw a few tapes. He's very aggressive and very courageous. It won't be easy and I'm taking him very seriously.
Host : You've talked about Super SIX. Did it annoy you now to be invited ?
Bute : At the beginning yes I was affected however I was very busy with the second fight with Andrade and it was something I wanted to clear off. The contract was signed already so I wasn't available anyway. I think it's good finally I'm not in this tournament however I'm waiting for the winner.
