If you don't know you are cheating how exactly are you a cheater?

Let me first start by saying I am fine with the CSAC decision not to restore Margarito liscense. They made very valid points and I think they were completely justified. With that what I would like to point out to everyone is that the commission said over and over again that they believed that Tony did not know what had been placed in his gloves. Written statements were provided to the court with testimony from the inspectors who were at the fight that said that they did not feel that Tony knew what was in the gloves.

With that I think the evidence is very much pointing in favor to margarito not knowing what was in his gloves, now does he deserve to be punished? Yes for being a ****** gullible idiot who should of made sure that his trainer wasn't a cheating scumbag. But before all the knee jerk remarks are made about how this thread is dumb and let me ask you to do one thing. Put yoursef in his shoes! Pretend that someone you trusted so much as to call him a father figure ***s you over and destroys your good name. How tragic would that be?

Margarito is a tragic figure in my eyes and always will be! I will never see him as a cheater like all the knownothings seem to cling to. But I will see him as this fun loving simple fighter who took marginal talent and made himself into a champion and was completely ***ed over by the people he trusted. Its sad that the fighter is the one who always suffers the most even if most of this mess wasn't really his fault.

Is being ****** an excuse? The boxing commission didn't think it was a good enough excuse.

The story of Ruben Carter comes to mind when you say tragic figure. The story of Edwin Valero comes to mind when you say tragic figure. Antonio Margarito however will be able to continue his career. To me...at the moment he is simply a victim of politics.

I can agree with that statement.

Ask yourself this, why Marg is not suing Capetillo in court? If he trusted this man so much and he did him wrong, why not take him to court and make this man pay for distroying his life, career and his reputation. Don't say bc he loved him like a father figure, bc obviously if Capetillo did something like that knowing what were the consequences, the feeling was not mutual.

You're the idiot who thinks Chris Arreola is in shape. You can't be any dumber of a poser. You say his fat is genetics and that its not from him drinking beer and eating junk-food all the time. You're such an intelligent poster. And you're always nutt-hugging Mexican fighters, I wouldn't be shocked if you are Mexican. You even picked that fat ass slob to beat Vitali.

I agree. However his career is over IMO.

He seems like a good enough guy, but fact of the matter is he may have accomplished what he accompished in the sport by having an UNFAIR advantage. You're right, it's tragic..

if he was RE-LICENSE, I would be pulling for him to get in there and prove everyone that he is still a top level fighter without illegal wraps. Problem is, he wasnt RE-LICENSED. And I for one am not gong to fight and argue w/everyone in here who disagrees and thinks he's crap or thinks he knew about the wraps. I wish Margo the best. Boxing still goes on.

No one boxer is above the sport.

Because Tony did some thing wrong himself. Tony isn't innocent here if you read my post I was pretty clear about that.
