Mayweather is definitely the bigger draw, but its not like he's a big draw. And he isn't THAT much of a bigger draw than Wright.

I knew this fight wouldn't happen, as I said from the beginning, because there's no way in hell Floyd would jump up to 154 when there are all the matches to still possibly be made at 140 and 147. And why would Mayweather's people let him fight Winky Wright at 154 when he'd stand a much better chance against Vargas or Mayorga? Both of whom are much bigger draws than Winky Wright, and safer opponents. Then there's also a seemingly washed up Mosley and Margarito & Judah at 147. Not to mention Ricky Hatton and Cotto at 140.

I'd rather see ANY of those fights before Floyd vs. Wright right now anyhow. Give it a couple years, if Wright is still around, Floyd has gone to welter at least and grown some more, then we'll talk. Right now? It too much risk with too little reward.

I never believe that a fight is dead just because everyone says it is. Same thing happened with Floyd-Gatti and Beranrd-Taylor...this always happens. Everyone will talk about how the fight is dead and then suddenly they've worked things out. So stay tuned.

i knew winky/floyd wasnt going to fly. winkyd have to lose 6 pounds while floyd will have to gain 14 pounds by november. goddamn, going from jr welter to jr middle in just 4 months?

besides, i think floyd shouldve gotten 60/40. the 55/45 deal was still sweet.

besides, floyd should fight zab and winky should fight taylor. those two fights are much better than winky/floyd.

Yeah but there's many times that a fight is talked about but never happens:

Hopkins vs. Jones, Tarver, Johnson, Toney
          Jones vs. Toney
          Tyson vs. Mercer
          Tapia vs. Vasquez

I think this fight never was alive anyhow. I'll believe it when I see them both at a press conference promoting the fight.

For a fight to be "called off", it first has to be "on".

This fight was never on, just Floyd BS'ing.

Winky would surely jump at the chance to beat up on a bloated super/lightweight and make millions

The only fight Floyd should be seeking out is against Ricky Hatton and the only fight Winky Wright should be looking at is Taylor/Hopkins

SpinksJinx, for a Hatton/Mayweather fight to be made one of them will have to travel.

I don't think either of them want to do that.

To get back on subject, I should have known with my luck this fight wouldn't have happened. I'm ashammed that I actually let these ****heads bamboozle me into believing it was going to happen.

I think the biggest thing blocking Floyd/Hatton is that Hatton wants to get at least one easy defence in before taking on Floyd. Who wouldn't, really? After finally winning a title who want want theit next fight to be against the #1 p4p?

I'm not going to jump on the "I knew all along this fight wouldn't happen" bandwagon, but I did have my doubts. The reason being, I think PBF just wanted to run his mouth thinking Winky would never take that fight. Not because he is scared but rather for not taking him seriously. I believe the only reason why he said he wants this fight is to try and promote his "I'll fight anyone, anywhere, anytime" statement. After the Gatti fight he said not in these exact words; I love going to other people's backyards and being the antagonist. If this is true then why wouldn't he take the boat ride across the pond and take the fight against Hatton?

I can prove I didn't think it would happen. Anybody can go check some of the first posts when the fight was supposedly announced as being about to be signed for Nov 12. I was definitely skeptical from the beginning. It just doesn't make sense for either guy.
