Had this fight happened in the early 1990's when it was talked about a lot ... what would of happened? RJ too green or RJ too good?

154 was Terry Norris's Natural weight. I think it would have been a very good fight but Roy is a natural middleweight and Terry was a natural Jr. middleweight and wouldn't have had to move up in weight to fight him. Norris had a punch first think later type of fight attitude which would probably get him in some trouble with Roy Jones jr. Terry had the tendancy to get careless like when he first faced Simon Brown. If Terry could control himself he probably could neutralize RJJ's speed with his own but he would have to fight a perfect fight like he did on the Simon Brown rematch. In this case since Terry fought at this weight I would have to give the advantage to Terry Norris by UD.Last edited by FistoftheDallasStar; 07-21-2005, 04:24 PM.Comment

I am a Terry fan also and agree that Jones did develope into a better fighter later in his carreer. But veteran Terry Norris fighting a yet unknown Roy Jones Jr. is an interesting match up. Roy going in to this fight looking for a KO would run in to some of Terry's counter punching which was no joke. Remember they would be fighting in Terry's weight class and I really don't remember Roy fighting at this weight... does anyone know if RJJ did?? It would be a hard fight for a young Roy to win cuz he just couldn't go in and out speed him the whole night he would have to pick his shots and also try not to get caught with one himself. I really think this one would go the distance if it happened in 1991 - 1993. I do agree there is no way Terry could have beat him at middleweight, though.Originally posted by BROWN BOMBERTerry Norris is one of my favs all time and I agree Jones to big to strong to fast for Terry.Comment
