The real Wladimir Klitschko makes Ring Magazine p4p list thread

Tunney (aka Freedom Fighter) has just put me on ignore after giving me about his 10th red k, so I can't respond to his thread on the subject any more.

But this thread is for those who would like to congratulate Wlad for his achievement in breaking into The Ring's P4P list, without having to contend with any racist sour g****s from Tunney or anyone else.

By definition, it's incredibly difficult for any heavyweight, and especially for any big heavyweight like Wlad, to get into the P4P lists. The last heavyweight to get in was Lewis, and only at the very end of his career, despite a very long reign as a titlist. Wlad's inclusion relatively early in his career (compared with Lewis) is a tremendous achievement, reflecting his huge improvement in the past few years, his recent recognition (by most) as the lineal world heavyweight champion; and the way he has started to completely dominate talented opponents such as Chambers and Chagaev.

So props to Wlad. He fully deserves his spot.

    You are right bro...

I think Wlad is a better boxer than Lewis skill wise, but he's more fragile...

Lewis hadn't an iron chin as well, but better one than Wlad's.

I think a fight btw both would have ended in a UD for Wlad,or a KO for Lennox.

I agree Wlad is highly skilled, and his skills have improved greatly in the last two or three years, IMO. I don't agree that he's more skilled than Lewis though, but it's just my opinion. I think Lewis was more fluid than Wlad, and more willing to let his hands go. Wlad rarely punches in combinations (of more than two punches at a time), whereas Lewis often did.

Also, I think that although Wlad has more one-punch power than Lewis did, Lewis had more overall power, in the sense that Lewis's punches in general had more weight behind them, even though Wlad's best punches have more power than Lewis's best punches. I think a prime and fully trained Lewis would gradually have worn Wlad down with clubbing shots. However, Wlad is always fully trained, whereas Lewis was more inconsistent. So on any given day, Wlad might have won, because Lewis would have had to be at his best to win, and he frequently wasn't at his best.

What bothers me is that Wlad got onto that list not because he won, but because Dawson lost. Nothing has changed in Wlad, he is the same fighter he was 5 months ago when he fought Chambers. Nor did his achievements became greater. The P4P is just some sort of High School popularity contest.

You seem to have accidentally walked into a thread meant for boxing fans. The threads for ******s are out the door on the left.

All that means is that 5 months ago, Wlad was just outside their top 10, and is now just inside it. That's how all lists work.

Before he beat Chambers he was probably ranked around #15 by them; after the Chambers win, he was probably ranked around #11, and now he's ranked #10. Dawson moved out, so everyone who was below him has to move up one. I don't see the problem.

It's just an honest assessment of who the best fighters are, making allowances for their weight.
