The difference is floyd said 0 days or nothing after he fought against someone with that stipulation. Frankly, in no other sport or any other fight would there be an expectation that someone would make a better offer after the 1st is refused.

If this is football and you refuse managements 5 yr 49 mil offer would you really expect them to say "ok how about 4 yrs 60 mil"? If Manny offers Tim Bradley 2 mil to fight and he turns it down, would Manny then say"ok tim how about 4 mil"? of course not.

Now you seem to say why didn't floyd just keep the offer at 14 days? I don't know but Why would you expect that? If its ok for top rank to have a 1 week "deadline" for floyd to sign in July, its equally ok for floyd to do something similiarin January. manny had MUCH MORE time to accept 14 days and did so only after it was off the table.

Actually PBF original offer was 0 days and after some back and forth PBF offered 14 days. Manny refused the 14 days so PBF went back to his ORIGINAL OFFER of 14 days.

As a PBF fan IMO 0 days or 14 days is cool with me. But I am not the one getting paid to fight so my opinion on the matter means jack ****.

I'm just wondering how Floyd's activity in the last couples yrs in comparison with Pacquiao, who's been very active in the last couples yrs, will play a part in the fight (if it ever happens). Floyd isn't getting any younger, and Manny is still IMO in the cusp of his prime while Floyd, who still looked really good against Mosley, hasn't had to go full throttle in quite sometime, let alone against another prime opponent at the level of Pacquiao.

          Anycase...NFL here we come!!!

Floyd would probably find another reason to puss out. Believe it.

Fact versus speculation is an impossible debate. No matter what you think of floyd mayweather jr. Manny didn't accept the offer until 7 months after it was on the table.

Mayweather is scared. losing to Manny means his so called undeafeated legacy would be a joke. he avoided Mosley, Cotto and Margarito in 2007. in 2010 he is retiring and taking a vacation because of Manny Pacquiao.

Wow. Is it that you just don't want to see it or that you hate Mayweather so much the possibility that Arum has played you or that Pac is merely a part of the larger Top Rank puzzle is inconceivable?

You allow yourself to get ****** into the minutiae of the testing/"vacation"/name-calling smokescreen when you refuse to see the bigger picture.

Arum is smart enough to use buzzwords like "legacy", "honour" and "pride" because it plays into Filipino cultural sensibilities. Arum couldn't care less about Pac's legacy. His number one concern is and always has been the long-term viability of Top Rank. Nothing more, nothing less. He will do what is best for Top Rank. If he determines that a Mayweather fight suits Top Rank, then there will be a fight. If not, then no fight.

Boxing promoters have been doing this kind of thing for years. However, a large portion of Pacs fans are newcomers to the sport and do not know this or want to believe it. It is easier to get drawn into childish name-calling and finger pointing than to step back and think about what is really going on.
