I have been to ghana, and south africa and have Dual citizenship (ghana/us) I will eventually build a home there.

As a black man in america, I know our history, I was born at night , not last night. Identifying with a culture and ethnicity is vital for one's self confidence. Claiming to be "mixed" is like, saying your are peanut butter and jelly. It's not good for identity sake. That is why I encourage all people to identify strongly with a culture, race, ethnicity. Or we will end up like brazil... millions of confused people going through perpetual identity crisis with portuguese and spanish names.

So Ward should ignore one of his heritage??

I dont think we need to belong to a race, a community based on the color.
We can belong to a country,a town,a social group...being mixed,white,asian,black,old...

The racial vision is due to people like you,white or black,thinking in your way.

Brazil has more economic,politic,****** troubles than racial troubles...

Now,if Ward decided to belong to your "black community",that's cool,but he's still a metis wich is a reality and not a fiction.

Economics, politics are inextricably tied to race. ***ish people, strongly band together to further themselves economically. ITalians, same thing. When you have confusion you have chaos. Thus Brazil.

belonging to a country is not the way. Countries are controlled at the pinnacle by a specific race or ethnicity. Unless that country/nation has a common dogma, then there will be people left by the wayside.

Ward doesnt have to ignore his heritage of his father to identify as a black man. But what is his fathers heritage? Irish? Does this mean he will do irish jigs? Go to st patty's day parades and feel comfortable? think about this for a second.

His incubator, nurturer,and still living parent is an afuraken womban, he was raised in Oakland california, a city with dominantly black population.
