Aydin looked very ordinary and should have lost against Jo Jo Dan, at the same time Berto is a pampered coward with no fans.
WTF is K9 thinking, how in the world does that guy turn down fights on HBO, he would also beat R.Hearns...whatever...K9 vs Berto would have ******...HBO is just straight up clueless about boxing, they are trying to protect a paper champion (Berto) who can't draw 1 thousand fans in his backyard.Comment

How the **** does HBO protect a fighter like Berto? Isnt it his promoter?Aydin looked very ordinary and should have lost against Jo Jo Dan, at the same time Berto is a pampered coward with no fans.

Plus HBO doesnt care how many seats he can sell out, they care about how many people watch the fight on TVComment

It's not just the fact that Kotelnik is a smaller guy. He's coming off a loss to boot regardless of how controversial it was (I had Kotelnik beating Devon obviously, but that's not the point). I don't think Kotelnik could've done anything different to get the win except knock Alexander out. But still it's not like he fought a good fight. Alexander was just that bad. Kotelnik didn't throw a lot of punches and wasn't aggressive as he should've been. Non aggressive non knockout punching fighter = disaster against a guy like Berto.
There are better opponents out there for Berto to fight and don't try to tell me there isn't. Somebody mentioned Bailey earlier, and that's an okay fight because Bailey can punch. Mike Jones I think is the best fight for Berto to take as far as pleasing the fans go. And if god forbid, Alexander ducks Bradley then Berto can always fight Timmy if he wants to go after a smaller guy which wouldn't look as bad as fighting Kotelnik. And hell, even Judah would be a more interesting fight I think. This kid needs to fuckin step up. Simple as that.Comment

BORING. Berto's best win is against a weight drained Quintana. Once he's stripped of his title, no one is going to want a piece of him because he can't draw flies. He should welcome the challenge and KO Aydin and get some respect for himself.Comment

I agree somewhat. One would want to see Berto in better fights, and it would be disappointing if Kotelnik faught Berto. He wouldn't have much recovery time, and Berto would destroy him. The Cotto fight was the best thing that could of happened, but Arum's not playing ball and won't have Cotto fight anyone outside Top Rank, not that anyone cares. I heard Bailey's trying to fight the old IBF champ, and their mutrual promoter Dibella would probably rather them both be champs before fighting. And I honestly would mind Berto vs Jones because Jones wouldn't win, but he honestly needs to step up his competition. Maybe try to force Adyin to fight him cause beating Irvin Garcia doesn't merit and immediate title shot if your honest with yourself. This is what happens when HBO forces a short turnaround fight and your in a not too deep division. It's not just the fact that Kotelnik is a smaller guy. Belts dont mean **** nowadays so he should give up the belt and fight someone thats going to bring serious cash and recognition at the same time. For example he got to redeem himself from the Collazo fight. We all saw he lost that fight and he hasnt fought not one WW with a great pedigree so instead of fighting bums like whatever his name is or picking on jr ww like Kotelnik he should step up his competition and fight like the champ he says he is!!!Comment

If this fight was to generate any kind of money, Berto would have to go to Aydin's back yard. Dawson, a HBO fighter, just got handled in another fighter's backyard therefore HBO is going to be quick to disapprove. Another reason Berto isn't going to fight him is because he's an actual welter. And he's probably going to ask for 50/50 against any legit welter, even if he isn't worth. I'd rather see Berto fight Aydin over Kotelnik. I doubt Collazo priced himself out, he probably wanted more money because the fight was competitive the first time, which is reasonable. Berto is a HBO hype job for sure.Comment
