How would the James Toney that battered Holyfield do against David Haye and..

This older slower 39 year old Vitali, who got hit a ton in his last fight? I think Toney would have dismantled and knocked out Haye, but the Vitali fight would be interesting seeing that this version of Vitali is looking rather lethargic as of late due to age and such.

    Toney by KO over Haye.

The Vitali fight would be so damn good. A shame it didn't/won't happen.

Vitali fights with a very high rate and volume, it would be interesting to see how he'd fare after missing a LOT. He's used to unskilled, lethargic opponents standing flat footed in front of him - leading to performances that can appear on the poor side e.g. the Johnson fight.

Toney doesn't have the power to trouble Vitali at all, and I think he'd struggle to land well to score the points. I think they'd both look bad in that one.

Jones showed that Toneys style can be trumped with speed so I'd expect Haye could do a number on him. Toney manages to pull out some stellar performances sometimes and I think he could hurt Haye. Haye gasses easily and has a low punch output, he's also not incredibly accurate. It's possible that Toney could outpoint Haye, and if he stopped Holyfield he could stop him too.

An interesting further question, where does Toney rank if he beat both Haye and Vitali?

          Toney-Haye KO and Toney-Vitali UD

Toney still had some of his speed, good power, and his legs were still there. Haye is 1 of the top 5 fastest Heavyweights out, but Toney would still time his right hand and land pretty consistently. Haye still has some amateurish tendencies that would be exploited.

Vitali would be frustrated, not be able to land anything, so he'd just try to throw volume to win rounds, which would get him countered unlike Kevin Johnson, who made Vitali miss plenty and didn't/couldn't counter.

He'd get KTFO by Vitali. Haye fight is a toss up.

yeah but he's a natural middleweight he's not a huge puncher at crusier or heavyweight

i think haye would stop him late. actually probably ud it's hard to knock out toney

haye has just as much speed as toney maybe more (at heavyweight/crusier) and power to go with it that's a dangerous combination

toney would'nt have the power to discourage haye one bit

The Toney who beat Holyfield and Ruiz would kick the **** out of Haye.

The current version wouldn't have much of a chance. He is getting pretty slow and he likes to duck down a lot.

David Haye would just punch him in the back of the head over and over again until he was Knocked Out and there is no way the British Ref would do anything besides count Toney out.
