leave floyd and pac out of this thread. im sick of hearing about those drama queens. id rather talk about fighters who give the fans what we wanna see.

u can clearly tell he isnt the same fighter he was before margarito. compare him to meldrick taylor, he had some success after the first chavez fight too but there no doubt he wasnt the same fighter. its a testament to how good he was before that he could win titles as a shell of his former self.

to say cotto wasnt shot bcuz he did well early against pacquiao proves nothing. in some cases being shot means decreased physical attributes, but in cotto it meant decreased mental attributes. once he got hurt he quit trying to win the fight and went into survival mode, u cant tell me thats the miguel cotto who fought zab judah, ricardo torres, demarcus corley etc.

after juan diaz made freitas quit rather easily merchant said "freitas quit before, therefore it was easier for him to give up again". the same thing goes for cotto, and for a fighter who always took loads of punishment thats a death sentence. they chose foreman cuz he cant punch to save his life, that allows cotto to shine. but hes still shot, he will fold again mark my words.

Theres a fine between a battle hardened fighter and a fighter who has taken too much punishment and as a result aint quite as good as he once was, i think Cotto is the latter of the two at this point but that does NOT mean he is shot, he still has pretty good reflexes and his timeing seems top notch still.

He may not hold a shot quite the same after all these tough fights, theres also only so many times a guy can go to the well, u never no till u know but i feel Migs has a few more trips left to make!

His problems are that at 154 he is a STUMP of a figher, never being the tall rangey type even at 140 AND his skin, his eyes are riddled with scar tissue that cuts easy now

But despite his problems he is still one HELLUVA fighter and has a fresh feel to him with Steward, i think Chavez Jr is in for some real hurtin come fight night!

So now a fighter has to be proven not shot otherwise he is?

There is no evidence at all to suggest he is shot, he isn't getting KTFO left and right like Taylor was.

He in fact looked pretty good last time out be it against Yuri Foreman who plenty of tool boxes on here said would beat Cotto for the sole reason of him being "shot".
