He might be a champ some day but I think the reason people are hard on him is he has 41 wins and still never fought a top ten contender. Yes he beat Duddy but so did Billy Lyell.
So is he any better than Billy Lyell? Probably, but most people expected him to prove himself with a contender by now. It doesn't matter if he looks good against another 40 opponents if he never steps up in competition.

Oh yeah apparently people are also comparing him to fighters who had 300+amature bouts before they turned pro.

      Yeah thats fair!

No, because he got beat by someone with bricks in his gloves.

Sorry but this is the pro game now and you judge by that.

40+ pro-fights and he's still just considered a prospect, who is 'progressing', with lots of 'potential'.

That doesn't seem pathetic to you?

Would anyone talk about this kid if he wasn't Chavez's son?

Would Arum even promote him if he wasn't Chavez's son?

Would anyone give him a chance if he wasn't under Roach?

The kid is purely a bum to me. I have seen him look very sluggish and inactive many times. Maybe it's the weight issue but he is not no Cotto's level at 160 let alone 154.

Cotto knows a lot oft ricks and is a very good fighter still.

But its a fact all these prospects and other fighters have had 300+ amature bouts against top level amature compatition to learn there craft. How convinient for you to dismiss a practice that has been used for decades to develop great fighters into champions.

Same reason fat, lazy ***s sitting on the coach think they know how to play QB better than the professional they are watching on Sundays.

his first real test will be against Cotto, his Resume is TRASH and John Duddy wasn't no test, watching that fight it looked like John Duddy was paid to just stand in front of Jr for 12 Rounds and throw a few punches every now and then

what sucks though is that if he beats Cotto people will say, Cotto is washed up, 154 is not his original weight class and a bunch of other excuses
