Dan Rafael: "Dawson got beat, plain & simple..it's PATHETIC to hear him make excuses"
Dan Rafael recaps Dawson vs Pascal

Dawson, whose safety-first style can be maddening to watch -- which is perhaps why he couldn't sell out a fight in his driveway -- was filled with sour g****s afterward. He complained about Pascal's supposed head-butting being on purpose (yeah, whatever) and insisting that because he had Pascal hurt in the moments before the fight ended, he would have knocked him out later in the round or in the 12th. Nonsense. He got beat, plain and simple, and it was pathetic to hear him make excuses instead of giving Pascal the credit he deserved. Dawson had 10-plus rounds to do something against Pascal and he didn't. The better man, and the more crowd-pleasing fighter, won. Dawson's lack of fire and lack enthusiasm were painfully obvious and had to make you appreciate Pascal's energy all the more.
I think Chad Dawson is cut from the same cloth as Joshua Clottey. They have great skills and tools, btu just refuse to go out for it all and lack hunger. Pascal really exposed him as much as he could in 33 minutes. Also if Pascal did not tire after 8 I really think he could have knocked out CHAd dawson. People talk about how Pascal was hurt in the 11th, but don't talk about the numerous times Pascal had Dawson hurt, one time he had him hurt even more, and Dawson had to hold on to his waist for him not to go down in a heap.
Expect any fighter to brush off a loss and say they had a bad night or something like that. Not surprised to hear Dawson bringing that noise. All the people buying into it here is surprising though. Dawson just didn't expect what Pascal brought strategy wise, and even when Pascal slowed down, he didn't have it in him to seize the opportunity. I'm still calling the rematch 50-50, but Pascal deserves his props for Saturday.
