you'd have to be delusional and extremely naive to think fights aren't still "set up".
This was an in-house fight, with one party being a desperate man going through a costly divorce.
Business is corrupt, children. Money rules all in western civilization. pac-clottey could've been a job, too. Pac/Margo could be a job, too.
I would not be surprised in the least if this fight was fixed. It would give at least a fractionally-credible reason for someone who had so much momentum to hit a wall after 6 minutes. Someone who had NO REASON to tighten up or lose gas...he didn't swing much at all and just seemingly gave up the rest of the way.Comment

Well, putting it in the right context, one could say shane was more desperate to WIN that's why he cheated then, ergo, it would be harder for Shane to swallow a loss by way of throwing a fight. just so uncharacteristic.
Don't like Floyd, but a win over Shane is legit.Comment

i think there's a decent chance it was fixed. if you follow the sequence of events from when floyd came back from his first "vacation" it looks su****iously like a money grab and nothing more.
floyd takes an easy fight against marquez. a slap in the face to all boxing fans and about 20 million dollars for a guaranteed win. why fight marquez? out of all the fighters in the world marquez? well he is with golden boy, he is a small lightweight and he has no chance of winning so maybe thats why.
then he fights mosley. in the actual fight mosley fought floyd on even terms till he landed those bombs. then mosley who is a great finisher and never gases suddenly backs off and throws nothing but arm punches looking totally gassed. where were the huge power shots that destroyed mayorga in the 12th? where were the huge power shots that destroyed margarito in the 8th? it's hard to believe mosley gassed out in the second round of this fight and don't tell me floyd's defense was too good cause when he was on ***** street he was an open book for a couple power shots around his guard but mosley suddenly started throwing arm punches and holding. in the rest of the fight mosley looks like he's not even trying to win and totally telegraphs his punches just to make sure he doesn't accidentally catch mayweather again.
now floyd refuses to fight pacquiao even though it's "easy work" and his biggest payday ever? i'm sure he's looking for another patsy opponent to make him millions more for an easy nights work. maybe then he will come back from "vacation"
let's also remember golden boy has a history of suspect fights. hopkins-delahoya that just did not look like a knockout punch to me and it never will. delahoya-mayweather if this wasn't a fixed fight i don't know what is. 2 guys lightly sparring each other and trying to make it seem like the fight was close. even the split decision left people saying delahoya still had it. we found out he didn't when steve forbes and pacquiao pummeled him.Last edited by daggum; 08-16-2010, 01:29 AM.Comment

First it was Mayweather wouldn't fight Mosley. Then it was Mayweather just beat an old Mosley. Now it's the fight was set up. Where does one draw a line? Seriously. Are you all boxing fans or just jealous haters?

Incredibly amateurish and embarrassing article. Yeah Mosley is a great finisher against defensive fighters like Mayorga and Margarito right? Had he won the fight, it would of boosted his legacy by a huge amount and open more ample opportunities such as a Pacquiao fight + everyone would be calling him out. FIXED is when you stand in front of your opponent for 12 Round and just cover up and don't throw any punches...that looked more fixed then Mosley vs Mayweather
Mosley was swinging for the fences, but at the same time, Mayweather held on he didn't allow Mosley to follow up, had Mayweather fell back on to the ropes and tried to get away from him instead of holding on, then Mayweather would have gotten KO'd
this article is a JOKE and the hate for Mayweather is completely out of control, if you don't like the guy then stop talking about him, let him go away but people post stuff about a guy they "HATE" every 10-15 Minutes

seriously...how young are you guys to think fights can't be fixed?
It isn't about hating Mayweather, cuz Pacquiao's fights have the same possibility of being fixed (Clottey and Margo). Clottey refused to open up for a very good reason....he was probably told he couldn't hurt Pacquiao in any way. Take your pay day and throw a few punches.
