That's the dumbest crap I ever read.

Joppy is equivalent to David Diaz now?

Joppy was fast in foot and hand, skilled, very solid fighter, very legit. Could you please explain in detail how/why he's as soft of a touch or on the same level of accomplishment as David Diaz at their respective weights?

And I'm not even shitting on Diaz.

Tito was a legit middleweight at that point in his career. Period.

The weightclass had nothing to do with losing to Winky.

LMFAO @ you counting the Jones fight, like that means anything.

I'm not interested in your anti-Hopkins agenda and the interminable, thinly veiled 'Africans vs. Mexicans' dance of genetic supremacy on which your entire contribution here is predicated. And FWIW, I like DLH, too. But you're a belligerent wanker and I'm not one of your dance-partners. Take your jaundiced BS and ram it up your ass.

Isn't Joppy's best win an old shot Duran?

Duran is the biggest name on his record.

You make a self-defeating point. Taking out Duran in 3 looks good regardless, but that Duran was "old and shot" might tell you that Joppy has better wins among the less illustrious B names on his record...Shinji Takehara, Julio Cesar Green, Hacine Cherifi, Howard Eastman.

Tito KO'd a skilled, fast, strong, legitimate middleweight with a good chin in 5 rounds.

Some of you are really dumb.

David Diaz = lower B-class guy at best.

William Joppy = solid B-class guy, 3 time title-holder with a string of successful defences.

Even when you get past that, the point is completely moot, since the question is 'was Tito a legit middleweight?' and knocking out Joppy in 5 rounds showed Tito was more than capable of hanging with legit middleweights...which makes him -- DUN DUN DUUUUUUUUUN -- a legit middleweight.

The guy has no argument. At all.

and what about going up to face the naturally bigger Tarver...u just ignore that?

And Tito was a legit 160 anyway.

I believe that the Delahoya fight was an arrangement....so i'll give u that if u want it.

The bigger Tarver had to lose 40lbs to make the 175lbs limit after the Rocky Balboa filming.

Hopkins fought smaller men , still needed to foul in order to win decisions.
Still lost 2 decisions to a never was Jermain Taylor.
