I don't know if the 9 month layoff and the fact that he doesn't fight very often played a part, but he looked slow as s**t in there. However I think this loss was probably the best thing that's ever happened to him. I think he'll look back to it and learn from it. You can expect to see him in the ring more than once a year for sure. And one thing I know is that he will be back! Bute bounced back from what should have been a 12th round KO loss and now people (like myself) still consider him the #1 SMW after KO wins over Andrade and Miranda. But what were they saying after the first Andrade fight? "Bute is a hype job!" "Bute sucks" "Bute should get that glass checked" "Bute has the stamina of one of those half a ton kids on TV"
So yeah, we'll see him again. And hopefully he'll make the mental adjustments to be a world class boxer, because he clearly lacks them. That's what separates guys like Floyd from guys like Alexander, Dawson, etc. They have the skill, just not the correct boxer mentality. They can't make adjustments and fold when their plan doesn't work. They also don't wake up and get the killer instinct when they're behind.
