Mijares used to be the man, but his career is on downhill, should be an easy fight for Montiel instead of fighting Donaire, thus avoiding a possible KO from Donaire. Why risk fighting Donaire, he's got so much talent for him. Montiel fights like a robot and an easy target practice for Donaire. Good choice for Montiel.

if the fight with donaire is happening i don't think he should fight in sept..that will be his fourth fight this year and i think that does take a toll on the body, all the training,he should just wait, let his body rest and take his time until december, that will still be his 4th fight of the year, even though the fights didn't last the 12 and he wasn't hurt,i still think the training and the fight itself does affect the body with those many fights, donaire is a strong guy and it will be a tough one,so he better just wait

What is Montiel thinking? I understand a tuneup fight, but he just fought in April and July. I know Mijares is shot, but he's still poses a risk.
The Donaire fight is what the public wants and knowing Donaire's luck, Mijares upsets Montiel, which causes Montiel to up in weight again and Mijares retires, leaving Donaire without a big fight and he ends up fighting more bums half his size on Pinoy Power.

If Mijares fights with his counterpunching style he might be able to give Montiel a lot of trouble and might be able to get the upset but if he fights aggressive again, I think Montiel would knock him out.
Still I hope he beats Montiel. That'd be great.
