He grew up in Oxnard, California, USA all of his life, I'm pretty sure that would make you an American. But yeah I like this guy lots of potential very mature for his age (22) and very patient in the ring. In a couple of years I think he could beat JuanMa Lopez in a big Mexico-PR fight.
