these two fighters know each other inside and out. dont be confused by the different nationalities. cermeno has fought his entire pro career out of panama. they are very close and fight out of the same gym. their fights will never be pretty

The only ripoff was that the decision was not unanimous for Moreno.

The fight had a lot of close rounds and both fighters worked very hard. The action never stopped from the sound of the first bell.

This is a most confusing fight (report). The fans went away convinced that Cermeno had got the decision, and, in the main, supported this. Even when we got outside and picked up our waiting taxi, he greeted us with..."well Cermeno won the fight OK".

I got sprayed with beer a couple of times, (glad it wasn't somehing less palatable) particularly, whenit was announced, as people thought, that Cermeno had won the fight. I had just given my opinion that Ceemewno had won, and the people behind disagreed with me.

In my opinion, Cermeno won reasonably well, and it should not have been a split D. he was attacking with some considerable success throughout most of the fight, particularly in the last 4-5 rounds, and certainly won the last 2. Moreno, whilst very clever in his use of the ring, was boxing on the retreat in practically the whole fight, pressed by Cermeno, who undoubtedly had realised that he needed to costantly pressure to get the verdict.

The fans were originally pro Moreno, and every hit or near hit of his, was greeted with a thunderous "Ooh Ooh" very like that of the great comedian Joe E. Ross, who played the part of Gunther Toody, the small, dumb policeman in "Car 54 where are you?"

The crowd was very appreciative, and very good humoured, for this marathon programme, and although the constant noise was ear-splitting,(particularly with what was called "music) the biggest roars of appreciation came when the ring girls arrived in between each round of the more important fights. I got home about 2 a.m.

All in all, a very enjoyable 7-8 hours boxing time.

After that many hours of fighting, and the amount of beer dispensed, the impression of a Cermeno win by some is not hard to get. When they see it on TV, and realize how much of that offense they though they saw was missing or being blocked, they'll know different.

I don't see how anyone thought Cermeno won, I don't even see how the fight was close. Landing one good punch a round does not win you the round when the other guy is controlling the tempo, utilizing ring generalship, and landing his jab and straight lefts all while making you miss the rest of your other punches. Cermeno won the 4th and maybe 6th, I can't see him getting any other round. Like everyone I love a good toe to toe brawl, but you have to appreciate the ability of a Moreno and can't judge a fight on who ever gave more effort or aggression, it was all ineffective. Only thing Moreno does that bothers me is he bends over when Cermeno threw body shots which made it hard to tell whether they land or not.
