At the Arena Roberto Duran, Panama City, Panama, Eric Castro (8-2, 7KOs) pulled out minor upset in a lightweight contest when he knocked out Whyber Garcia (22-9, 15KOs) in the eight round. This was Garcia's third knockout in a row but his previous two KO defeats came to top level fighters like Takahiro Aoh and Yuriorkis Gamboa. He was expected to win this contest.

This was a good fight, as far as i can rmemeber with so many fights on the programme. I think that castro was down in the first or second, and also in the round before the last he was down twice. He was pressing the fight and in between KD's looked good for it. But, after being KD'd twice in the previous rd. the sudden KO was a real surprise. It was a solid one and Garcia lay in the rind surrounded by officials and probably coctors for a couple of minutes before being more or less carried out.

i thought that Castro was introduced as Tony Castro. On one of the two different round cards given to fans, he was so designated, at least so my neighbour read out.
