I heard about him taking a break from training and going to Panama for a short vacation, even though he doesn't have a fight scheduled. That was all I needed to know about how much he wants it.pelenchin saw that tonight as we were at a friends house. he yelled at me (jokingly) for not putting up the good part. first you need to realize that he does not have a fight scheduled right now. so his sparring is not nearly as intense as it would be if he were to have a set date. second, the guy he was sparring with is an amateur who pelenchin was being very nice with. in fact, after this was shot, the other guy went at it real hard as if it were a real fight. it pissed pelenchin off and he proceeded to make the guy look like a clown.
ask jeff mayweather and he will tell you that celestino trains harder than any fighter he has ever seen. even now he trains 6 days a week. but you cant train at 100% all the time as you will peak well before your time comes to fight. i am probably going back to the gym tomorrow to film again since he was mad at me for not getting some of the better stuff. but i can tell you floyd was impressed and entertained. it was my fault that i didnt catch the best part of the action
People focus on his awkward crudeness and are blinded by that without being able to see what he does have and how well he uses it.
His conditioning will be top notch and it won't be the first time the less skilled fighter comes out on top (cough, cough... Margarito). It's the same reason I see something similar if Caballero-Lopez happens. I'm pretty sure Top Rank will throw Gamboa at him first.Comment

he has been back to panama twice since his last fight. the first was because his mother was ill. i have known him for a year now. besides his trips to panama (in which he still trains when he goes), he has trained 6 days a week since that time. i will probably take this video down because people like the ts dont realize what is going on. like i said, he cant go all out all the time. athletes that do peak way to soon. he cant do that especially since he doesnt even have a fight scheduled. so a lot of the time his sparring sessions, especially against guys like this who are not that skilled, become a way for him to entertain himself. i wish i had filmed it all because he had us all rolling (including floyd). and he may look awkward, but ask the people he spars with, they all talk about how hard he is to spar as well as how good he is.I heard about him taking a break from training and going to Panama for a short vacation, even though he doesn't have a fight scheduled. He absolutely does not suck TS, if he did all of these top guys would not be avoiding him.
I hope he gets a fight with a bigger name opponent soon.Comment

caballero isnt willy pep but he has some skills, it takes skills to control distance and use your height. thats a very basic part of boxing kid, u should watch some more fights so u wont have to pretend u know what skills are when in reality u dont.Comment

I don't think he sucks, but I think he wins more from his size/length than his skill. I mean in the video of the fight posted he won off of activity and size, sure he has some skills which is why he landed that shoulder roll/counter, however, his fights are not like that. He simply is taller than you and uses his strength which include stamina. That being said even though he is a tall fighter like Marg/Williams who I think suck, Caballero is still better because he DOES use techniques to clean up his defense which is effected his punching output.
He showed that he can be hit with clean shots and I'll give Juanma and Gamboa a shot of knocking him out because of this. However, as its been stated by every floyd fan on earth, but it is still a true statement. Fights HAVE to make sense and I know there is not ONE person on here that would turn down a fight with a DRAW in Marquez to fight a very difficult unknown. Sorry but drawing power in boxing carries as much weight as your skills thats just how it works and until the guy gets some name value he'll be "ducked" or plainly put, won't be able to fight any big names unless he can put butts in the seats and money in the wallets of the promoters involved.Last edited by Beater_of_ass; 08-16-2010, 09:29 AM.Comment
