Comments Thread For: Sluggish Arreola Settles For a Decision in Ontario

It wasn’t pretty but had enough pockets of bar room slugging towards the end to recapture a crowd it seemed to lose in the middle of Friday’s twelve rounds at the Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario, California as 29-year old Heavyweight Chris Arreola (29-2, 25 KO) of Escondido, California defeated 32-year old Manuel Quezada (29-6, 18 KO) of Wasco, California by unanimous decision. Quezada came off the floor three times to finish the affair. [Click Here To Read More]

You could tell they tried to distribute the weight around Chris' body to make him physically bigger. His upper body, mostly his shoulders and arms, were MONSTROUS.

But now he's soo big he can't even throw punches let alone land them effectively. Who's ever idea it was to try to make him bigger really dropped the ball on this one.

He's going to need 3 to 4 more fights while tampering with his weight until he actually performs effectively again. I doubt that will happen though. Now he's got soo much weight on him he's gonna have to bust his ass even harder just to get his body to a realistic size to save the little hand speed that he did have.

But outside of "tough man competitions" I don't think I've ever seen a guy so big and fat that he couldn't throw a punch

Arreola looked very average not world class just a slow hittable pug who just stands there with little movement and soft round punches. It was sad to see the guy regress to 8 round staus but he isn't a contender just a pretender and an average jose!

Quezada had one hell of a chin. He was a tough dude, but I think HW's like Povetkin, Peter, and Adamek would've gotten him out of there.

arreola belongs in that world hotdog eating contest they have every year. I think with training Chris could be a world class eater and a champion. he is in the wrong sport. Take fatty tub letter O built Ramirez with you.
