  • Do you think that Montreal is a town where boxers are getting robbed most of the time

Many posters are saying that since the fight is in Montreal, Dawson will propably get robbed, so i made this thread so they can explain why they think that way.

Explain your decision or compare with other towns and their most famous robberies...

After recent robberies like Kotelnik-Alexander and especially Mosley-Mayweather you can understand why fans are worried.

Dawson is the favorite and backed by HBO.

If Pascal was a HUGE star and was backed by HBO and say, Golden Boy, then yeah, I'd be concerned.

there will be no robbery. In fact, if the fight is real close, or if Pascal is even winning by a round or two, I would bet the decision goes to Dawson.

How can Dawson get robbed if the fight isn't close at all? This is going to be a one-sided massacre.

The only person robbed on the Mosely - Mayweather card was me and other ppv buyers, out of $59.95.

But Kotelnik/Alexander, you can definately make an argument, that was in DA's hometown.

I think vegas does some of the best work at not being bias towards a hometown fighter, but Germany, Texas, and now missouri concern me abit... I am undecided about canada, can't recall a fight off the top of my head where I think someone was blatantly robbed.

I think Pascal has to undoubtably win this one to take it from Dawson

Yea i agree completely. i expect any decision to go to Dawson. He just has that kind of style that wins rounds and fights.

NO way a star gets robbed against a MUCH lesser known fighter even if in Canada

              Obviously you didn't watch rounds 2, 6-12.

Andrade against Bute was a str8 robbery, not on scorecards though

But there are some fights were a fighter will never loss a decision, Vanes-Ouma is one and Devon-Kotelnik is the other. NO way either of those 2 fighters would have ever lost on scorecards

I didn't like the way the first fight ended, Bute wanted a rematch to prove that he was for real and KO'D Andrade with one punch. Montreal is a great city for boxing, i have seen local fights in the Bell center with 20 000 people

                    thanks for that

people say Canda is a place where you get robbed because of what happened when Bute fought Andrade the first time

that's utter bs, because they can't come up with anything else to support their ridiculous thesis that Canada is like Germany

I have seen many, many decisions go to the right man in pretty closely contested fights, and these winners were coming from outside Canada and were fighting local favorites

this was a good idea for a thread, I have been thinking about this for a while
