Comments Thread For: Seniors Tour Over, Dawson Ready For The Young Guns

By Thomas Gerbasi - Having a former world champion like Eddie Mustafa Muhammad in his corner isn’t just a tactical decision for current light heavyweight boss Chad Dawson. It’s a reminder of how things used to be in boxing, and how they could be once again.

“I always ask him how it was when he was fighting and he always says that the best fought the best,” Dawson told BoxingScene. “Guys weren’t afraid to fight each other, promoters weren’t scared to put their best fighters in with another promoter’s best fighters, and it was a totally different ballgame. That’s when boxing was boxing. You didn’t have fighters ducking each other, and the best fought the best. When (Marvin) Hagler fought Sugar Ray Leonard (1987), they both were the best at the time in the division, and they fought each other and didn’t have a problem fighting each other. That’s not going on in boxing right now.” [Click Here To Read More]

Chad should have fought Cloud. He will get robbed in Canada because Pascal draws bigger crowds and in my opion is the more exciting fighter between the two. HBO CONSPIRACY............

Exactly, that's how i feel about today's boxing and this is why i take my time before saying that a boxer is an ATG.

Dawson needs 2 holla at my son Thunder Cloud. Idk if Tavoris could beat him but if Chad gets by Pascal, I wanna see them 2 get it on.

If Bute fight Cloud at 175 he gets knocked out cold. Bute is not a light heavyweight.

Dawson-Pascal, which will be fought in Quebec, Canada, will have the following officials:

Two Canadians: Michael Griffin, referee; Jack Woodburn, Judge
Two Brits: John Keane, Judge; Charles Guiles, Supervisor
One American: Gerald Ritter of Oklahoma- Judge.

Dawson was born in North Carolina but has his current address in Connecticut; Pascal lives in Quebec, Canada.

Dawson has a KO average of 56%, Pascal just slightly higher.

The chances of the fight going to the score cards: High. (Each has only 2 stoppages in their respective last 7 fights).

Its only one division. Its not like Marquez moving up to fight Mayweather. Dawson would be willing to meet in the middle and stylistically, Bute would give Dawson more problems than Cloud could ever give.
