Too fast too skilled just too good for Pac now and always.
great points... too bad floyd doesn't even want to acknowledge that negotiations were going on. even floyd doesn't think the fight is gonna be as easy as you say.

I JUST DON'T SEE HOW IN THE HELL PACMAN FIGHTS LIKE BRUCE LEE, LOL
lol at this. I agree though to an extent.

But PBF might shut down pac, but im not sure he believes he will. Otherwise they would be fighting next month or so by now.

I know Pacquiao throws these crazy punches, but with Mayweather’s height, defense and his foot positioning, he’s always in position and when you’re in position, with the skills that he has, you will always beat your opponents to the punch,” commented world-class MMA/boxing trainer Trevor Wittman as he shared his thoughts on a potential clash between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao. With rumors running rampant that the fight is close to being finalized, Wittman took time out of his busy schedule to talk about the fight that everyone is waiting for.

“He is so good at shutting people down and even though Manny Pacquiao is fast and throws combinations, he will shut down his combination punching, pick him apart with a jab and slowly wear him out. I don’t think he will stop him, but I think he will win a decision,” he stated as he explained why he thinks Mayweather will be victorious should the two fighters actually step into the ring. Although Wittman admits that he’s always believed that Mayweather is the best pound-for-pound boxer in the world, it was the undefeated fighter’s performance against Shane Mosley that convinced him that Floyd will defeat the Filipino superstar.

“You asked me about a year ago who was the best fighter in the world and I want to get back to that. Mayweather is the best pound-for-pound fighter. I said it for a long time. It’s funny because I never bet against him, but I wanted to see someone go out and challenge him and I thought Mosley had the speed to do it,” he added. “I wasn’t going to bet against him [Mayweather] because he’s known for going out there and putting on spectacular performances. One thing that I thought he did great in that fight was he got rocked, but his composure to be able to walk Shane Mosley down while he was rocked showed me greatness.”

Ironically, it was that one moment of weakness against Shane Mosley that answered any remaining questions about Mayweather. “It’s what I’ve been waiting for from him. I’ve seen him get rocked a few times, but then he would go defensive and that’s what he does well. That’s what he’s best at. Mayweather will shut down Pacman. He shuts down all fighters. He’s so good at shutting down what you’re good at,” Wittman added. “What I like about what he did was he got rocked and he pressured Shane like, ‘No, that didn’t make me scared of you. I’m going to keep pressuring you and backing you up.’ That right there showed me greatness. I’ve been waiting for that.”

Roach said that his first reason for not wanting the Mosley fight was there was no money to be made with him fighting Manny. It's not my logic.

Technique, skills and theory-wise...Mayweather will neutralize Pacquiao. But in the ring, those technqiues, skills and theory CAN cave in under relentless pressure, multi-angle punching and combinations FROM counter-punching intances/opportunities.

If we're talking about vectors, energy and science on paper...yes. Mayweather can be the most disciplined, defensive and downright "impossible" to beat.

That's why I think Mayweather is doubting himself or perhaphs having some second-thoughts because Pacquiao is at his physical and mental peak right now whereas Mayweather coming off from Mosley's fight, though superlatively fought defensively - have exposed some issues in his defense. Mainly when Mosley threw his overhand right crosses and landing with such force that it shook Mayweather's foundations.

Mosley's fault in no-follow-ups in combination with Mayweather's compusure enable Floyd to come back and win unanimously and impressively.

This is the instance that Pacquiao can most-likely exploit in the name of combinations, relentless pressure and multi-angle attacks. One of the barrages of his punches can land that can lead towards a "water-gate" like a dam that can overflow over time.

That commands not just physical prowess but mental accuity to counter Pacquiao in his prime and I bet that it has something to do with "buying-time" for Mayweather for Pacquiao's peak to mellow a bit through wear-and-tear AND age.

                  And thus his vacation.

But again, in theory Mayweather should have no-problem neutralizing the Tazmanian Pacquiao. But reality is of another thing. Mayweather's commendable and phenomenal defense in the name:

                  • distancing
                  • footworks
                  • angles
                  • counters

can also be penetrated under Pacquiao's relentess attacks. ONE BIG ATTACK CAN LEAD towards barrages of follow-ups.

Something that Mosley never had due to the luxury of his power.

                  My humble opinion.
