I only have HBO and I watch all the boxing on it but I really wanted to see the Super Six matches and really want to watch Juan Manuel Lopez vs. Rafael Marquez. Should I get Showtime?

You might need to check with your cable company but...

I used to only have HBO and not Showtime. What I would do is call the cable company and subscribe only for fight night, which was possible with pro-rated charging. In other words if the cost of Showtime is $16 a month, you would pay $16/30 = $.53 for the day and then cancel the following day. I think at one point they charged some type of fee which was like $4 it would end up being $4.53 for a single day but later if I recall correctly this charge didn't exist.

My provider overcharges for showtime, we used to have both but now only HBO. Luckily, I prefer HBO's commentators over showtimes dorky ones.

I heard some cable and satellite companies charge the premium channels on a pro rated basis, which mean you can order Showtime on Saturday and cancel it on Sunday and you won't have to pay the entire month subscription.

Showtime has a terrible movie lineup, but order it on the day of Lopez-Marquez and leaving it for the Super 6 fights in the next 2 week wouldn't be bad either. That's 4 top level fights for less than $15.

Only HBO. Comcast charges 16.00 for HBO, Showtime, Starz, etc. each.

I don't like anything on Showtime except for fights.

                  Got both.
Just get all the channels man 'cause if you spend too much time thinking about it, you'll never get 'em.

I get both for a special package deal. Look forward to the Lopez vs Marquez fights, Dawson vs Pascal, and the Super 6 fights.
